Canyon Lake celebrates first city-owned fire department

The City of Canyon Lake celebrated the opening of its first city-owned fire department during a grand opening celebration held Saturday, Feb. 26, at Fire Station 1 Fire Administration at 28730 Vacation Drive.Residents and visitors were invited to meet the city’s new Fire Department personnel, take a look at the new engines and equipment and tour the station. Food was provided by The Urban Craft Eatery.The department officially launched Jan. 1, after decades of contracting with Cal Fire Riverside County Fire Department, making Canyon Lake only the second southwest Riverside County city to form its own fire department.
