Murrieta City Council voted to have a summer legislative recess and authorize the cancellation of the July 5 and July 19 City Council regular meetings.The city has canceled past meetings at various times around the summer months as follows:∙ July 5, 2016 due to a lack of quorum.∙ July 5, 2017 due to a lack of quorum.∙ September 18, 2018 due to a lack of quorum.∙ September 3, 2019 due to lack of quorum.∙ No meetings were canceled in 2020 during summer months.On July 20, 2021, the City Council authorized a summer legislative recess resulting in cancellation of the August 17 and September 7, 2021, City Council regular meetings.According to a city report, the goal of the recess was to, “Maintain a high performing organization that values fiscal susta
