Brutal late-summer heat wave coming

RIVERSIDE - The Inland Empire will be baking under triple-digit temperatures this week, with highs reaching well over 110 degrees in the Coachella Valley. Temperatures will spike on Tuesday and stay that way through next weekend, according to the National Weather Service. Palm Springs and Palm Desert will see daytime temperatures as high as 115 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday, only dropping to 112 by Sunday. Coachella will reach 113 on Tuesday and Wednesday and 111 both Saturday and Sunday, according to current forecasts. Thermal will see highs of 113 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday. Riverside will see a high of 102 degrees Wednesday and feel the most heat on Thursday with a high of 104.
