Schuler Constructors to replace EMWD’s Hemet Water Filtration Plant filters

The Eastern Municipal Water District board awarded Schuler Constructors, Inc., the EMWD contract to replace the automatic self-cleaning strainer filters at the Hemet Water Filtration Plant. The board’s 3-0 vote January 3, with Jeff Armstrong and Randy Record absent, approved a $282,568 contract with Schuler Constructors. The motion also approved a $36,750 contract with SPEC Services, Inc., for engineering services during construction, authorized EMWD general manager Joe Mouawad to issue contracts with necessary suppliers and engineering support consultants, and approved new appropriations of $489,000 for the project.
