Hundreds stomp grapes at South Coast’s annual event

Stomping grapes is a messy business.For the hundreds of people that came out to participate in South Coast Winery Resort and Spa’s annual Grape Stomp celebration Sunday, Sept. 15, they were willing to sacrifice cleanliness for fun.Owners Dawn and Jim Carter were on hand, as were winemakers Jon McPherson and Javier Flores to celebrate the start of harvest season with a harvest moon hanging overhead.As guests took their seats, managing director Karl Kruger welcomed them to the event and turned the microphone over to Monsignor Don Webber for a blessing of the harvest.Guests were then directed to the buffet dinner served in the tasting room while classic rock and roll band, Endeavo
