Brush fire chars five acres in Lakeland Village
LAKELAND VILLAGE (CNS) - It took Riverside County firefighters less than an hour on Saturday, Sept. 21 to stop a fire that consumed five acres of light grass in the unincorporated Lakeland Village community near Lake Elsinore, authorities said.
The fire was reported as one-quarter acre at 1:40 p.m. in the 33000 block of Olive Street, Riverside County Fire Department officials said.
They reported the fire was holding at five acres as of 2:15 p.m., and at about 2:30 p.m. that all forward progress had stopped and mop-up was underway to make sure all hot spots were out.
No injuries were reported.
