Grass fire adjacent to Interstate 15 quickly contained
CORONA (CNS) - A spot fire on Saturday, Sept. 21 in grass along Interstate 15 just south of Corona was extinguished without property damage.
The non-injury blaze, reported about 10:25 a.m., burned less than a tenth of an acre near northbound I-15 at the Temescal Canyon Road underpass, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
When engine crews reached the location, they found motorists with fire extinguishers putting out the fire, which was contained within a few minutes, according to reports from the scene.
There were reports of two other spot fires in the same area, but crews from the county and Corona Fire Department were unable to find them.
Travel through the area was not disrupted, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The cause of the fire was under investigation
