Person killed in Corona crash said to be off-duty Buena Park police officer

CORONA (CNS) - The person killed on Saturday, Sept. 28 in a semi-versus-sedan crash on the Riverside (91) Freeway in Corona was reportedly an off-duty Buena Park police officer. The crash in the eastbound lanes, near South Promenade Avenue, occurred a little after 5 a.m. and resulted in a trailer being detached from the semi-truck, according to the California Highway Patrol. The Riverside Press-Enterprise reported that the victim was an off-duty Buena Park police officer. Riverside City police said they assisted in traffic control around noon as a procession took the victim's body from Riverside Community Hospital to the Riverside County Coroner's Office in Perris, according to Officer Ryan Railsback, a spokesman for the department.
