RC Waste Management holds compost and cleaning class

The Riverside County Department of Waste Resources hosted a free backyard composting and green cleaning class at the Little Red School House in Anza Saturday, Sept. 28.The composting presentation taught how to recycle organic resources such as yard trimmings, and fruit and vegetable waste, into a beneficial soil conditioner. Compost is used to enrich the soil in gardens, lawns and house plants. Instead of putting organic waste into the trash to be hauled to the landfill, residents learned to compost.The purpose of educating the public is to reduce, reuse and recycle, keeping as much as possible from being dumped in the landfills.“We’re part of the recycling program,” George Podolsky, volunte
