Census Bureau workers to be in Perris for recruiting event Wednesday

PERRIS (CNS) - Representatives from the U.S. Census Bureau will be in Perris on Wednesday to recruit census takers for the 2020 count, which will require a half-million temporary workers to visit homes, colleges and other places as part of the federally required effort to estimate the size of cities, counties and states for congressional apportionment.Members of the bureau's Los Angeles Regional Office will be on hand to help students and others interested in positions fill out applications at the Oasis Youth Opportunity Center at 11 South D St. The recruitment event will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., according to organizers."The event will feature information on available jobs, pay rates and the requirements/duties of each position," according to a bureau statement.
