Firefighters douse grass fire in Perris

PERRIS (CNS) - A grass fire that broke out today on the west end of Perris scorched roughly a half-acre before crews got it under control.The non-injury blaze was reported at 12:38 p.m. between Arapaho and Navajo roads, just north of Highway 74, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.Multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames moving slowly through a field, well away from homes and other structures.Firefighters completely encircled the blaze 15 minutes later.The cause of the fire was under investigation.
