PERRIS (CNS) - A grass fire that broke out today on the west end of Perris scorched roughly a half-acre before crews got it under control.
The non-injury blaze was reported at 12:38 p.m. between Arapaho and Navajo roads, just north of Highway 74, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames moving slowly through a field, well away from homes and other structures.
Firefighters completely encircled the blaze 15 minutes later.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
