RIVERSIDE (CNS) - Temperatures will remain hot Friday, Sept. 18 throughout Riverside County before cooler weather arrives this weekend, according to the National Weather Service. The upper ridge responsible for the heat this past week will drift east from central Arizona toward New Mexico today as a trough of low pressure moves inland across the Pacific Northwest, forecasters said. Temperatures may drop a degree or two today compared to Thursday, but greater cooling will arrive Saturday through Monday. Thermal reached 113 on Thursday, breaking its previous record of 112 for a September 17 in 1962, according to the NWS. High temperatures today could reach 108 degrees in the Coachella Valley, 102 in the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning, 100 in Riverside and Lake Elsinore, 98 in Temecula, 10
