Car crash sparks small fire west of Temecula

A car crash caused a small fire in De Luz that firefighters were able to quickly get under control Tuesday evening.The crash was reported just before 6 p.m. at the intersection of De Luz and Camaron roads west of Temecula, according to the California Highway Patrol.Preliminary information indicated the car ran a stop sign and crashed into a fence, according to the CHP, before becoming engulfed in flames.The fire spread to nearby vegetation, sparking a brush fire that was burning about a quarter acre as of 6:20 p.m., Cal Fire Riverside spokesman Rob Roseen said.The blaze was contained by 6:40 p.m., Roseen said.No injuries were reported.Will Fritz can be reached by email at wfritz@reedermedia.com.7:45 p.m. Tuesday: This story was updated to indicate the fire has
