The backers of a planned Holocaust memorial in Murrieta’s Town Square Park to commemorate survivors will hold an event to raise funds for the project, Saturday, Oct. 26. The Holocaust Remembrance Foundation of the Valley will host Thomas Biebers from 4-6 p.m. at the Bordeaux Room, 27535 Jefferson Ave., in Temecula, where he will share the story of this father, Casimir Bieberstein, a Polish survivor of the Holocaust and resistance fighter. Biebers is the co-author of a book about his father’s life during the Holocaust entitled “Not Without a Fight: the Story of a Polish Jew’s Resistance.” The fundraiser will also include hors d’oevres and wines to sample. There is no charge for entry, but the foundation is requesting donations of any amount to go toward the Holocaust
