Murrieta to host 17th annual Veterans Day Parade
MURRIETA – The city of Murrieta will host the 17th annual Veterans Day Parade Monday, Nov. 11, in recognition of its hometown heroes and all of the men and women who have fought for the nation’s freedom.The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Washington Avenue accompanied by the singing of the national anthem and a flyover. It concludes at Town Square Park with the Rotary Field of Honor, a tribute of more than 2,000 American flags covering the city’s Veterans Memorial Park with red, white and blue.Leading the parade as Grand Marshals are retired Lt. Col. Gevin Harrison, senior instructor for Vista Murrieta High School Air Force JROTC, and retired Lt. Col. Michael Jackson, senior instructor for Murrieta Mesa High School Navy JROTC.The long-standing event is a local favorite,
