Paws on the Promenade showcases pet costumes, adoptable dogs

Dog lovers and their pooches showed up to the annual Paws on the Promenade Spooktacular in the morning, Saturday, Oct. 26. Put on by Animal Friends of the Valleys and sponsored by John Hine Temecula Subaru, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Barons Market, the event featured almost 20 local animal-related vendors, a pet parade and a pet costume contest.Owners entered their dogs in a costume contest looking for the cutest, spookiest, funniest or most original costume.Ella Fulgar dressed up her pup Maggie in a hoodie and sneakers for an outfit that took home first place in the “most original” category.She said she found the event on Instagram, and it didn’t take her very long to come up with the idea for the costume.“Basically I fir
