One person was killed when the vehicle they were driving slammed into a tree in the unincorporated Valle Vista area of Riverside County near Hemet Saturday, Nov. 2. The crash occurred near Fairview Avenue and Sopwith Drive at 2:05 a.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department. The first crew to arrive located a vehicle that had struck a tree, and the only person in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, the department said. It was unclear what led up to the crash. The California Highway Patrol investigated the crash.Â
