Crews prepare to demolish old Scott Road bridge, requiring overnight 215 closures

MENIFEE (CNS) - A freeway overpass in Menifee is slated to be demolished next week, requiring a full closure of Interstate 215 for two nights, during which motorists will be detoured around the project site. According to the Menifee Department of Public Works, most of the original two-lane Scott Road bridge is scheduled to be taken down in segments on the nights of Friday, Nov. 15, and Saturday, Nov. 16. The overcrossing was replaced earlier this year with a six-lane span, serving as the new Scott Road/I-215 Interchange. The exact hours of the two-night freeway shutdown have not been confirmed, but according to officials, both north- and southbound traffic will be diverted off I-215 via newly expanded exit and entrance ramps at Scott.
