Crews to complete demolition of old Scott Road bridge, requiring freeway closure
MENIFEE (CNS) - Demolition of a freeway overpass in Menifee is scheduled to resume Saturday night, requiring a full closure of Interstate 215 and detours around the project site.Crews began removing the original two-lane Scott Road bridge Friday night, and the final segments are expected to be taken down between 10 p.m. tonight and 9 a.m. Sunday.The old overcrossing was replaced earlier this year with a six-lane span, serving as the new Scott Road/Interstate 215 Interchange.During the final phase of demolition, both northbound and southbound traffic will be diverted off Interstate 215 via newly expanded exit and entrance ramps at Scott Road.
