Woman accused of slashing Hemet officer with knife

HEMET (CNS) - A woman suspected of being intoxicated is accused of slashing an officer with a knife, inflicting non-life threatening injuries, during an encounter in a residential neighborhood in Hemet, police said Saturday. Officers responded to a call of a woman "acting erratic and displaying bizarre behavior" at about 8:15 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of North Kirby Street, according to the Hemet Police Department. While officers spoke to the suspect, she became combative and allegedly pulled out a knife and slashed one of the officers, inflicting a large laceration to one of his arms, said Lt. Nate Miller.
