Rain expected to return next week

RIVERSIDE (CNS) - The winter rain and snow has been put on pause for a few days, with another storm expected to hit the region midweek, forecasters said. A downpour on Thanksgiving and the day before dropped over two inches of rain in some places, flooded roadways and capped mountains with snow. The storm began dissipating Friday and today conditions were chilly and dry across the county, with temperatures expected to peak at 56 degrees in Riverside and 58 degrees in Palm Springs, according to the National Weather Service. The weather will begin to warm up Sunday with highs expected in the mid-60s countywide and by Tuesday highs will top out in the lower 70s, the NWS said.
