Power knocked out at Promenade Temecula, other businesses Monday afternoon

TEMECULA - A power outage affected hundreds of homes and businesses Monday in north Temecula before utility workers were able to restore electricity to most customers. About 900 electrical customers in an area near the Promenade Temecula shopping mall found themselves without power just before 1 p.m., according to Southern California Edison spokesperson Susan Cox. The outage disabled some traffic signals, according to a post from the city of Temecula's official Facebook page, including those at the intersection of Winchester Road and Promenade Mall East, which created traffic jams on Winchester that spanned multiple blocks in each direction for much of the afternoon.
