Temecula Valley downs Murrieta Valley on the road

MURRIETA — The Temecula Valley Golden Bears varsity boys basketball team overcame a big first quarter by host Murrieta Valley to go on to a 97-83 win on the road on Friday, Jan. 10.The Nighthawks led 27-16 after the first quarter, but the Golden Bears flipped the script in the second quarter, outscoring Murrieta Valley 28-12, then scored 26 and 27 points in the final two quarters to run away with the win.Jordan Montgomery led the Nighthawks with 24 points, sophomore Damon Ruiz added 21 and junior Kevin Lincoln added 18.There were no individual statistics provided by the Golden Bears.Amir Hughes of Murrieta Valley evades tight defense while driving in the low post area, Friday, Jan. 10.
