MURRIETA – Downtown Murrieta is on the cusp of becoming a locals’ hangout. The five blocks of locally owned stores and restaurants create an atmosphere of small-town charm that is becoming a preferred destination for shopping, eating and events, according to the newly formed Downtown Murrieta Merchants and Property Owners Association.The association’s vision is to stimulate public activity, to attract attendance and revenue for downtown merchants and property owners and to be an advocate with the city of Murrieta and other public entities.The community is invited to join the Downtown Murrieta Merchants and Property Owners association at their kick-off meeting Thursday, Feb. 6, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Wine Ranch Grill and Cellars, 24683 Washington Ave., in Murrieta.
