A motorcycle left the roadway and went down an embankment on state Route 79 east of Temecula Saturday, Feb. 8, killing the rider, the California Highway Patrol said.The crash occurred at about 2:40 p.m. in an unincorporated area west of Sage Road, according to the CHP.It was unclear what caused the crash or if another vehicle was involved.Both sides of the highway were closed for about a half-hour but have since reopened.Officials from the Riverside County Coroner’s Office were on their way to the scene.
