Murrieta seeks to be transparent with new open data portal

“Transparency in action” is Murrieta’s new open data portal.The open data portal, which was announced at the Murrieta City Council meeting March 3, will provide honest and open information to the public regarding the city’s financial data such as expenditures and revenue.“This online portal accomplishes that goal,” Louie Lacasella, assistant to the city manager, said in his report. “As you know, transparency is a city council goal and the foundation for the work we do here in the city.”They also included department program data and other city metrics.To go to the open data portal, people can visit the city of Murrieta’s website and look for the blue circle tab near the center of the page labeled “Open Data: Transparency in Action.” After clicking that
