Learn about the local rattlers and local snakes
TEMECULA – The snakes are out. “Snakes 101: All about Rattlesnakes and Local Snakes” will be held Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Temecula Valley Historical Society, located in the Red Barn to the right of Kohl’s at Temecula Parkway and Redhawk Parkway.William Hayes, a biology professor at Loma Linda University, will be bringing his knowledge to help people understand local snakes, the science behind relocation and the importance of a balance in nature. Food is not allowed, and the event is recommended for adults and for children 12 and older. Due to historical artifacts, children must be supervised.Hayes will dispel common myths – such as baby rattlesnakes are not more venomous – and provide tips for best avoiding snake bites and relocating rattlesnake
