Suicide 2nd leading cause of death for those ages 10-24 in California

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – Recently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released the new 2018 Fatal Injury Data. In California, suicide is the second leading overall cause of youth death and every 0.67 days on an average a young person age 10-24 is lost to the silent epidemic of youth suicide.With that being said, suicide is one of the leading causes of preventable death. Four out of every five young people who attempt suicide exhibit clear warning signs before an attempt. It means in 80% of attempts people have an opportunity to recognize these warning signs and intervene.
