CHP seeks public’s help in finding motorist who struck, killed man in Perris

PERRIS (CNS) - California Highway Patrol investigators asked today for the public's help in tracking down a motorist who struck and killed a man walking on Interstate 215 in Perris, leaving him on the freeway, where other vehicles ran over him. Oscar Rodriguez was walking in the fast lane on southbound I-215, near D Street, about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday when a vehicle driver slammed into him at an unknown speed, according to CHP Officer Juan Quintero. "Rodriguez sustained fatal injuries as a result of the impact," the officer said. "The driver fled the scene of the collision." Quintero said that in the ensuing minutes, "an undetermined number of vehicles struck the victim as he lay in traffic lanes.'' A motorist finally stopped and reported the body in the roadway.
