MENIFEE (CNS) - A 30-year-old man accused of swiping liquor from a Menifee grocery store and threatening a clerk, then turning combative with deputies before he was taken into custody, pleaded not guilty today to robbery and resisting arrest.
Devin Thomas Moore was arraigned before Riverside County Superior Court Judge Stephen Gallon, who scheduled a preliminary hearing for May 28 at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta and set bail at $30,000 for the defendant, who's being held at the Byrd Detention Center.
According to sheriff's Sgt. Dave Tinker, the man allegedly grabbed a bottle of booze from a store shelf at the Stater Bros. market in the 25900 block of Newport Road and headed for the exit about 8:30 p.m. last Thursday.
