Woman, small child, struck by vehicle at Temecula Duck Pond protest
A driver struck at least one person at the Temecula Duck Pond this afternoon, while crowds gathered to protest the killing of George Floyd, a black man who was killed by a white police officer in Minnesota earlier this week. The person who was struck appeared to be a woman pushing a stroller with a baby inside, according to witnesses at the scene. The baby appeared to be uninjured, but the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department confirmed one victim suffered minor injuries.Witnesses said that it appeared the vehicle lost control before careening into the crowd, and that the woman was taken away in an ambulance. The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with deputies, Riverside County Sheriff’s Sgt. Deanna Pecoraro said. It’s not believed the crash was intentional,
