5.1 magnitude earthquake rattles southland
An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 in San Bernardino County has led to some shaking locally.The earthquake was centered in the Searles Valley, near the Ridgecrest area that was the source of magnitude 6.4, 5.4, and 7.1 quakes in July 2019.According to the United States Geological Survey, today's 5.5 quake had at least four aftershocks with preliminary magnitudes between 2.5 and 3.2 in the half hour after the main shock.It was originally reported as being magnitude 5.1 before being upgraded by the USGS.There were no immediate reports of damage.
