Blaze erupts in eucalyptus grove north of Lake Elsinore

LAKE ELSINORE (CNS) - A fire erupted today in a eucalyptus grove on the northeast edge of Lake Elsinore, quickly charring 3 acres and threatening structures as crews worked to contain it.The non-injury blaze was reported at 12:20 p.m. in the area of Red Gum Drive and Eucalyptus Avenue, just east of Interstate 15, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.Multiple engine crews were sent to the brusher and encountered flames burning at a moderate rate toward homes.Before the forward rate of spread was stopped at abouut 1:15 p.m., evacuations were possible, according to reports from the scene.Cal Fire air tankers and water-dropping helicopters were dispatched to make runs on the blaze.There was no word on how it started.[caption id="attachment_27819" align="ali
