Grass fire damages home, threatens others in Temescal Canyon

TEMESCAL CANYON (CNS) - A brush fire that broke out today in Temescal Canyon damaged a house and raced up a hillside, burning about an acre, as crews deployed to contain it.The blaze was reported about 12:25 p.m. in the area of Horsethief Canyon Road and Colt Drive, just west of Interstate 15, south of the Corona city limits, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.Multiple engine crews from the county and Corona Fire Department were sent to the location and immediately went to work knocking down the fire that had reached the house. Crews were making steady progress encircling the blaze as of 1 p.m.There were no immediate reports of injuries.There was no word on how the fire started.
