Firefighters will be conducting a controlled burn on the Santa Rosa Plateau west of Murrieta on Tuesday.The burn will take place on two plots covering a combined 189 acres in the Santa Rosa Ecological Preserve, according to an announcement from Cal Fire Riverside.The burning operation, a joint effort between Cal Fire and the California Department of Fish and Game, is intended to assist with weed eradication in the preserve.Cal Fire Riverside said the burn should begin after 7:30 a.m. and conclude by noon.Will Fritz can be reached by email at wfritz@reedermedia.com.
