Controlled burn scheduled west of Murrieta on Tuesday

Firefighters will be conducting a controlled burn on the Santa Rosa Plateau west of Murrieta on Tuesday. The burn will take place on two plots covering a combined 189 acres in the Santa Rosa Ecological Preserve, according to an announcement from Cal Fire Riverside. The burning operation, a joint effort between Cal Fire and the California Department of Fish and Game, is intended to assist with weed eradication in the preserve.
