5-acre brush fire stopped near Hemet

Firefighters were quickly able to stop the forward spread of a brush fire near Hemet Thursday afternoon. The fire was reported at 4:37 p.m. in an area off Bautista Canyon Road in Blackburn Canyon, southeast of Hemet. Cal Fire Riverside said in a tweet that the fire was burning about five acres at that time. By about 5:10 p.m., firefighters had stopped the blaze from spreading, according to Cal Fire Riverside.
