San Jacinto man gunned down during confrontation in his home
SAN JACINTO (CNS) - A man accused of fatally shooting a 39-year-old San Jacinto resident that man's home was being held today on $1 million bail.
Melvin Mario James Landry, 38, of San Jacinto was arrested Thursday and booked into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on suspicion of murder for the death of Gilbert Wah.
About 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Landry and Wah were involved in a confrontation at the latter's home in the 800 block of Camino Los Banos, near Shaver Street, according to Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Ken Thurm.
Landry pulled a handgun and shot Wah in the upper body, Thurm alleged.
The victim's relatives called 911 and tried performing CPR, he said.
