764 new coronavirus cases, 18 new deaths in Riverside County

Riverside University Health System reported 764 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday and 18 new deaths. In all, 38,977 have tested positive for the virus and 752 people have died since the county began recording data back in early March.Thursday's number of new cases was much higher than the 490 new cases reported the day before.Thursday's reported deaths occurred between June 19 and Aug. 1, according to Jose Arballo, an RUHS spokesman.The county reported 87 people have recovered from the virus overnight, while there were four additional people hospitalized — a total of 415.
