Deputies conduct cannabis eradication raids in Anza

ANZA (CNS) - A series of raids to seize and destroy illegal marijuana grows in the Anza Valley was conducted today, culminating in the confiscation of roughly two tons of cannabis.Riverside County sheriff's deputies, along with California Department of Fish & Wildlife agents and county code enforcement officers, served search warrants at five properties after daybreak, according to sheriff's Sgt. James Burton.The sweep netted 7,462 cannabis plants in various stages of growth and 123 pounds of processed weed as well as a shotgun and rifle, Burton said.No arrests were announced, and Burton did not say whether any suspects were being sought.The Anza area is known for illegal grows and some residents have publicly stated their intent to continue cultivating marijuana regard
