Lake Elsinore city council approves sending transaction and use tax to voters in November

The Lake Elsinore City Council approved a resolution with a 4-0 vote, with councilmember Steve Manos absent, to place a transaction and use tax proposal before voters in the November election Tuesday, July 28. City Manager Grant Yates, who brought the resolution to the council, emphasized the need for Lake Elsinore residents to have control to allow for “accountability and transparency.” Yates said that financial stability of residents is the priority of the city council and this resolution comes with the intent of moving forward as a community. “We are the 12th fastest growing city in the nation, but we still have a long way to go,” Yates said.
