In early August, college baseball players took to the field at the Diamond in Lake Elsinore for a Procase game like no other. The “Strikeout For A Cause” games, which took place July 31 to Aug. 2, was closed to the public, except for Major League Baseball scouts or agents, and featured local talent from Vista Murrieta High School. Though rosters were not posted, the Valley News sports department did learn that recent 2020 Bronco grad, Zach Rodriguez, who is set to play baseball at the Division 1 collegiate level (assuming there is a spring season due to the pandemic), was chosen to showcase his skills alongside other local and nonlocal players.
