The Eastern Municipal Water District approved a lease with AT&T for a telecommunications facility at Eastern’s Cienega Well facility in Hemet.A 5-0 EMWD board vote Wednesday, Sept. 16, approved the lease for an initial five-year term with three additional five-year options. AT&T will initially pay $2,950 per month, and the rent will be increased by 3% each year.The Cienega Well facility is located in the 43200 block of Cedar Avenue. In 2019, AT&T approached Eastern about putting a cellular communications tower at the location.
