Bicyclist struck by motorist succumbs to his injuries

TEMECULA (CNS) - An 82-year-old bicyclist who was hit by a motorist while peddling on a Temecula street died at a hospital, authorities announced Monday, Oct. 5. Kenrick Skinner of Murrieta was struck about 7:20 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Margarita Road and Paseo Brillante. He was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, where he died of his injuries about 4 p.m. Sunday, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. Sgt. Joseph Greco said Skinner was attempting to ride across Margarita when the driver of an eastbound Toyota Corolla ran into him. The victim "crossed into oncoming traffic,'' apparently, without having the right-of-way, though the investigation is ongoing, the sergeant said.
