At least 1 killed in Anza crash

Firefighters were responding Wednesday afternoon to a crash on state Route 371 in Anza that left one person dead, authorities confirmed. The crash was reported at 4:16 p.m. on Route 371 near Howard Road, according to Cal Fire Riverside on Twitter. Fire officials initially said one person was extricated following a two-vehicle collision. A California Highway Patrol official confirmed at about 5:20 p.m. that at least one fatality had occurred and the Riverside County Coroner's Office had been called in to investigate.
