Firefighters were responding Wednesday afternoon to a crash on state Route 371 in Anza that left one person dead, authorities confirmed.The crash was reported at 4:16 p.m. on Route 371 near Howard Road, according to Cal Fire Riverside on Twitter.Fire officials initially said one person was extricated following a two-vehicle collision.A California Highway Patrol official confirmed at about 5:20 p.m. that at least one fatality had occurred and the Riverside County Coroner's Office had been called in to investigate.According to CHP Officer Napier, the driver of a westbound Dodge pickup truck told investigators the crash occurred after he attempted a left turn onto Howard Road and struck the driver's side of an eastbound Jeep Cherokee, which the Dodge driver said he failed to s
