Riverside County’s anti-human trafficking conference goes virtual next week

RIVERSIDE (CNS) - Riverside County's annual ``Human Trafficking Conference'' will be held next week, featuring an array of speakers, all of whom will appear via a virtual platform that any member of the public can access. The Jan 11-14 conference will focus on how drug abuse, difficulties at home and other factors lure children onto the street, into sex trafficking and other perils, according to the county Department of Public Social Services, the conference organizer and host. One of the speakers will be Dr. Katarina Rosenblatt, author of ``Stolen,'' highlighting her experiences as a 13-year-old runaway who became part of a prostitution ring, from which she narrowly escaped with her life.
