Former San Jacinto standout, Britney Thomas, helping pave the way RIVERSIDE -- The California Baptist University women’s basketball team is evolving daily, constantly having to grow through the pains of playing during a pandemic, but they are doing so in an impressive way. The Lancers have opened this most unusual of season with 10 straight wins, the program’s best start in at least 40 years. They put their undefeated record on the line recently when they opened up Western Athletic Conference play against Utah Valley University at the CBU Events Center.Many college basketball programs across the nation have had to shut down activities or have seen a handful games canceled due to coronavirus protocols, so getting these games played is a major accomplishment.
