Blaze south of Highway 371 in Anza briefly threatens homes

ANZA (CNS) - A fire that broke out today south of Highway 371 in Anza charred just under four acres and briefly threatened several homes before it was stopped. The non-injury blaze was reported shortly before 10 a.m. in the area of Bradford and Tule Valley roads, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. Multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames adjacent to a mobile home, spreading quickly in medium brush amid easterly winds. Two Cal Fire air tankers and two water-dropping helicopters made runs on the brusher, slowing its progress and preventing it from reaching two to three properties in the path of the flames.
