Lake Elsinore cyclist struck, killed in Menifee

MENIFEE (CNS) - A cyclist died after apparently being struck by two vehicles in Menifee, police said Sunday. At about 10:45 p.m. Saturday, the cyclist was hit by a white truck while traveling westbound on Highway 74 west of Briggs Road, according to the Menifee Police Department. Authorities said the driver was initially unsure what he hit due to how dark it was, but investigators later learned the cyclist was struck while crossing into the roadway. The impact of the collision threw the cyclist into the eastbound lanes of the highway, where it appeared he was struck again by another vehicle, police said.
