Rescue attempt underway for injured mountain biker

ANZA (CNS) - Firefighters were attempting to rescue an injured mountain biker Sunday who went down in a remote and hard-to-reach spot near Anza.The injury was reported just before 11 a.m. on a hiking trail near Highway 74 and Pine View Drive in the San Bernardino National Forest, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.The mountain biker suffered a lower extremity injury and was stuck about six to eight miles from the trailhead, in a place inaccessible to ground vehicles, fire officials said.A California Highway Patrol helicopter was dispatched to the location to assist in the rescue.
