HEMET (CNS) - A person described only as a suspect was shot and killed by authorities Tuesday night in the unincorporated Homeland area near Hemet.The shooting occurred in the 26000 block of Steinhoff Avenue, near Highway 74, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said on social media about 10 p.m.The suspect was pronounced dead and no deputies or residents were injured, the department said.Details of what led up to the shooting were not disclosed.
